Climate and Weather Climate • the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region, as temperature, air pressure, humidity, precipitation, sunshine, cloudiness, and winds, throughout the year, averaged over a series of years. Weather • the state of the atmosphere with respect to wind, temperature, cloudiness, moisture, pressure http://dictionary.reference.com/
Climate Vs. Weather Similarities Differences Weather is what conditions of the atmosphere are over a short period of time, and climate is how the atmosphere "behaves" over relatively long periods of time. the weather at a given location can vary substantially through the course of a day but this doesn't necessarily imply a climate change. • Climate and Weather both effect the world. • Climate is the long-term average of weather . http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_similarities_and_differences_between_weather_and_climate http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/noaa-n/climate/climate_weather.html http://paos.colorado.edu/~fasullo/pjw_class/weathervsclimate.html
Global Climate Changes When trees decay, they're emitting tons of carbon dioxide, which causes intense weather storms like Katrina. As water heats up, it expands and triggers a sea level rise around the world. The U.N panel predicts in 2080 we will have devastating consequences for the rich and poor. FLOODS. fuel-efficient cars still don't sell as well in the United States as elsewhere, this means that when we drive the none fuel efficient cars we are releasing more carbon. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=12385112 http://www.physicalgeography.net/fundamentals/7y.html
How does the changing climate impact biota: turtles, polar bears, penguins, migratory birds, humans, food production? • The changing climate impacts almost all of the animals the same. For example the polar bears and penguins are loosing ways to get food, with the melting ice.
