  1. Briefing: Update on the 2007 UBO/UBU Conference Speaker: The UBO Program Support Team Date: 14 November 2007

  2. Objectives • Update the AWG on progress to date • Review the schedule • Input requested from the AWG • Discuss the invitations and speakers packets • Timeline for Documents • Last draft before sending out invitations

  3. Summary The Process for Choosing Presentations – • Reviewed evaluations for sessions and speakers from last year. • Reviewed and noted any volunteer names and/or presentation for which they volunteered to speak. • Reviewed statistics on sessions with highest/lowest attendance. • Asked AWG for input and suggestions for topics and speakers. • Measured all of this against – what are “hot topics”, regulations and/or guidance that needs to get to the field and any changes in process/systems that needs to be communicated.

  4. Conference Progress Where Are We in the Process? • With the help of the Nov AWG meeting, we will have an approved final draft. • Invitations will be sent out to presenters beginning on Wednesday of this week. • Each speaker will receive a copy of the timelines that we will be strictly adhering to this year. • Each speaker will get a speakers packet with materials to fax and email back. • Each speaker will also get a sample template and information on how to be a successful presenter at the UBO/UBU Conference

  5. Invitations and Speakers Packets • Invitations will be emailed beginning 15 Nov 2006 • 3 documents need to be signed and faxed back to us. • 3 documents need to be filled in and emailed back to us. • Conference template will be provided to all speakers so all presentations will outwardly appear the same (helpful when presentations are put on the web afterward) • Directions are also included for speakers who wish to use a previous presentation and drop it into the new format. • Tips are provided for successful presentations.

  6. Conference Calendar and Deadlines • Speakers will be given approximately two weeks to respond letting us know they are interested in speaking. • All faxed and emailed materials (minus presentation) need to be sent back in the two week timeframe. • We are asking that presentations be send in before Christmas. We realize we may need to give a few extra weeks due to holidays. • This year we will have weekly reminders for all speakers with outstanding presentations. We are on a tight schedule with the GPO.

  7. Conference Calendar and Deadlines Registration: • Registration will open with DB Consulting starting on December 21st. • Participants must register with their respective service representatives before they can register with DB Consulting. • Number of slots: AF Navy Army • Numbering of slots: AF Navy Army

  8. Review the Schedule • After having a quick view of what this year’s conference will look like - any feedback or suggestions? • Please put your comments on the input sheet and I will go over each one • You can see me in person – email me – call me with your comments/input or feedback. • We welcome your input so we can put on the best UBO/UBU conference
