DISTRICT-WIDE SAFETY COMMITTEE Required and Regulated by Parts 155.3 through 155.6 of Commissioner’s Regulation 8 YCRR 155 And Board of Education Policy 8130 Facilitated by John Hall, Director of Facilities Parent Representative from each building Administrator from each building Head Custodian from each building Representative from each local fire department Representative from Nassau County Police Department Superintendent of Schools Assistant Superintendent of Business Board of Education Representative Director of Transportation

DISTRICT-WIDE SAFETY COMMITTEE Duties and Responsibilities • Provide a member for the annual visual inspection • Provide consultation for building safety rating • Participate in post construction inspection • Investigation and disposition of complaints • Auditing health, safety and security issues • Auditing compliance with all health, safety and security laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of public school facilities in New York State

BUILDING LEVEL EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANS Each building has a detailed plan, filed with Central Office Building Level Safety Team Emergency Response Team Post Incident Response Team Volunteer Search Team Incident Command System Early Dismissal Plan Evaluation Plan Sheltering Plan Emergency Notification Needs of Handicapped Desk Top Table Drills Emergency Drills Hazard Analysis Transportation Drills Annual Review/Revision of Plan Emergency Response Kit Coordination with Local and County Emergency Services Plan Summaries Available on District Website
