Science literacy • How do you feel you have grown as a learner from your water project experience? • I feel I have learned about how the Asian Carp are invading The Great Lakes and so are Zebra Muscles. And I've grown as a learner from knowing little about the great lakes and the pollution going into and the Asian Carp and Zebra muscles evading to knowing almost everything about it. Our group also made a commercial that went on BCS now explaining what has been going on in the great Lakes like the pollution and the evading and how we need to help/fix it. That is what I have learned from the water project experience. • Did your group work well together? Why or Why not? • Yes, our group did work well together because we had two 6th graders (Megan and I) and three 5th graders (Charlie, Marisa, and Noah). It was a balanced group because Megan did the cartoon and recording, Charlie and Noah researched, and Marisa and I typed and were in the videos and sometimes researched. • What has been your favorite part of this challenge? • My favorite part has been making the commercial and working with a group I've never worked with before. And getting to research all about The Great Lakes and what going on in them and what's happening. And how we can maybe help/fix it. I also liked finding out all the cool marine animals that live in the Great Lakes that I've never heard of before. • What is your overall individual for this class? • My overall individual for this class is to make a flyer and put it out over in Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Franklin area. And explain what is happening to the Great Lakes and how we can help it or maybe even fix it. I maybe even want to get another commercial out on BCS now. Those are a few of my individual goals for the class. • How do you feel about Guys/Girls read? What have you learned from this class? • I feel it was really fun because when you walk into the class room Mrs. Burns always had some music going on from Pandora. Then we got to make t-shirts (tie dye or just regular decorated). Then we also got to make posters of what book we where reading and other stuff. Then we get to make a big project at the end since we had no homework during the Guys/Girls read other then reading.
