Texas State Aquarena • Texas State owns the Aquarena on the San Marcos River • Their goal is to preserve the river environment and use it for research.
Mascot: “Boko the Bobcat” The Bobcat has been the mascot of Texas State University since 1921 • Smaller than mountain lions, bobcats are known for their stubborn fierceness and great courage.
Texas State Strutters Dance Team • The Strutters have performed in presidential inaugural parades, at numerous NFL and NBA games, the nationally televised Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and MTV's Total Request Live. • They were the first U.S. dance team to perform in the People's Republic of China. • Most recently, the Strutters danced their way to the semi-finals on the nationally televised hit show, "America's Got Talent.
Loud Crowd Fanatics • Loud Crowd is the official student spirit organization of Texas State University Athletics. • The group’s mission is to promote school spirit both on and off campus
Victory Star • The Victory Star was first a Christmas decoration on top of a water tower . • Then in 1942, a night watchman found it. He again placed the star on the water tower, and he turned it on when the Bobcats won football games. • When the water tower was replaced, the star tradition was to the tallest building on campus, where it stands today, and it can be seen from miles away when the Bobcats win and during graduation.
