Uranium Projects in the Athabasca ? • Supplier of 30% of world’s uranium • Unique geology hosting the world’s richest and largest uranium mines • Vastly under-explored with significant potential for discovery of mines worth over US$10 billion
ATHABASCA BASIN SASKATCHEWAN 30% of the World’s Mined Uranium
ATHABASCA UNCONFORMITY DEPOSITS • McArthur River • 235,164 tonnes of uranium at 19.60 % U (518 million lbs at 23 % U3O8) • Cigar Lake • 134,541 tonnes of uranium at 15.50 % U (350 million lbs at 18 % U3O8) Their values are measured in TEN’S of $ BILLIONS
McArthur River – 2003 436.5 million lbs. U3O8 (167,897 tonnes uranium) with an average grade of 24.7% U3O8 231.5 million lbs. U3O8 (89,100 tonnes uranium) with an average grade of 19.0 % U3O8 Total reserves and resources are approximately 350 million pounds U3O8 ATHABASCA BASIN “The Saudi Arabia of Uranium” Cigar Lake Project -2006 Cigar Lake The World’s largest-richest Uranium Mine These deposits are orders of magnitude larger and richer than most other uranium deposits world-wide. McArthur River The Athabasca Hosts the World’s Richest Uranium Mines
Uranium Price: Staying up to meet demand The Athabasca mines operated profitably throughout the 1980-2001 “Nuclear Winter” Athabasca Extra Profits $7 1989-2001 • Long term price WILL reflect cost of production from average deposit. • Athabasca deposits have 10+X profit premium because of their unique grades.
