What is the Southall Project Combination of new + proposed initiative with four main strands : Safer Communities – a community safety project led by the police, overseeing work to deal with prostitution, enviro – crime, bookmakers, alcohol abuse etc. Healthier Communities – opportunities to tackle known health inequalities and emerging public health agenda Prosperous Communities – as a result of improved car parking facilities, possible development of Business Improvement District, transport improvements and link to possible re-brand of Southall College as business school Connected Communities – deliver work that improves community cohesion and integration, with a focus upon inter- generational work that builds bridges between residents from different backgrounds
Accountability Process • SCA arranges meeting of 4 themed Sub-groups – ensuring full resident and VCS participation • SCA provides regular monitoring reports to DMG/LSP about project delivery • Reports prepared by local delivery agencies themselves • Promotion and publicity of success in local media • Annual evaluation of different projects that would be shared with all partner / stakeholders
