  3. Formula #1 for Quote Blends • According to AUTHOR in SOURCE, “DIRECT QUOTATION” (PAGE NUMBER or TITLE OF WEBSITE). • Example: According to Riesler in The Encyclopedia Britanica, “Emily Dickenson was a recluse that most people did not take notice of” (212).

  4. Formula #2 for Quote Blending • AUTHOR, in SOURCE, suggests that “DIRECT QUOTATION” (PAGE NUMBER or TITLE OF WEBPAGE) • Example: Sandra Cisneros, in “On Writing The House on Mango Street,” suggests that “literature should reflect the real lives of Latino culture” (566).
