Employer Branding • What is it? • Why is it important?
Recruitment Market – Macro Trends • Moved from “Best candidate”… • … to “I don’t want to make a mistake” • Why – people covering their own backsides – compliance crazy. • Elongated recruitment processes. • Great people are still in high demand. • = war for talent still exists. • Social media.
Recruitment Market – Current Micro Trends • Goal to reduce spend per hire. • Big companies feel they are competing with one another. • Concerned about perception of their employer brand. • In-house recruiters are maxed out/stressed. • Whilst the candidate experience/journey is important to. them - Most feel that they are failing… • Social media is used as a broadcast tool.
The Pitfalls • Over capacity – mistakes are made. • Short on time – mistakes are made. • Candidates not hearing anything back. • Engaging too many recruitment consultants. • Too much emphasis on CV and hard skills. • Rather than softer skills, organisational/cultural fit.

And Finally… • You can start to improve your employer brand now. • Do the basics very well. • Will give you a competitive edge.
