EDUCATIONAL GOALS • Develop Project Management Skills • Leadership, planning, business-related • Exposure to Multi-Disciplinary Teams • Electrical, mechanical, marine, business • Exposure to Solar Energy Application • Panels, batteries, motors, controls • Develop Systems Integration Outlook • Design, construction, testing, funding • Provide International Education Experience • Promoting collaboration, diversity and gaining life learning skills that are essential to engineering/technology program goals
COMPETITION FORMAT( 5 DAY EVENT: Wed – Sun ) • ENGINEERING DESIGN ( 150 points ): • Design report submitted (~May 1st) • Poster presentation • Workmanship • BOAT COMPETITIONS ( 850 points ): • Qualifying: Maneuverability & Sprint • Slalom • Sprint ( 300 meters) • Endurance ( 2 times 2 hours)
COMPETITION “Happenings”( 5 DAY EVENT: Wed – Sun ) • WEDNESDAY - register, begin technical inspection, attend Opening Reception. • THURSDAY – continue Tech Inspections and run Qualifying Events • FRIDAY – run Slalom Race and 300-meter Sprint Heats • SATURDAY – run 4-hour Endurance Event • SUNDAY – run Final Sprint Events and attend Awards Ceremony
