Number of Cardiovascular Risk Factor Screenings All States Massachusetts
CDC NBCCEDP • Women must be low income (< 250% FPL) • Women must be under or uninsured • 60% of Funds must be spent on Direct Services • Services must be for breast and cervical cancer screening or diagnostics only • 75% of mammograms must be for women age 50 to 64 • 20% of cervical cancer screening must be for rarely or never screened women
WISEWOMAN Mandates • Women Must be 40 to 64 years old • Women Must be enrolled in breast and cervical cancer screening program • Women must be screened for CVD risk and referred for lifestyle interventions • Massachusetts must screen a minimum of 2500 women per year • Women with “alert” values must be referred for medical followup
Case Management • Case Management is a legislative mandate • All women with an abnormal result must be offered case management services • All women with a cancer diagnosis must be offered case management services
