2. Purpose Purpose of this document is to understand the context of CMDB in NPEMS environment, gathering the required asset details, building CMDB model in M&S ROD environment, relating the CIs to service requests.

3. Scope • The objective of using CMDB in ROD portal is to manage and maintain all assets in the NPEMS environments and to use the CIs as a base for service requests. • All of the service requests might have certain asset information like “Application”, “Environments”, etc., • Our goal is to identify and collect the details of CIs whose information is required in filling up Service request. • Once all the details are gathered and maintained in CMDB, we can relate the CIs to service requests. • We can take a report asset wise, to identify the total number of service requests associated to that asset.

5. Many to Many Application One to many Application Infrastructure/System One to One Environment Custom Class Add new attribute Platform to both Application and Application Infrastructure/System class.

6. An application instance will be grouped in a particular environment. • Each and every application will be categorized into a particular platform(s). • Environments/Platforms doesn’t have enough attributes to a part of CI. • Suggested approach is to use default CMDB Application class and create two separate • attributes, environment and platform. • Application along with environments and respective platforms can be displayed to the user • in the request entry screens.
