8. Night Probe I enjoyed this book very much. It had a good plot line that kept me involved in the book the whole way through, making me always hang on to the edge of the page waiting for the next. I am going to read more Clive Cussler books because I liked his writing style.

Inciting Incident: Both copies of the North American Treaty are lost underwater in 1914.

It eventually comes to the attention of the President, who is in need of something desperate to turn around the gloomy fate of the nation. Dirk Pitt is assigned to locate both of these treaties. He finds the first, but after almost 80 years underwater, it is mush. Climax: Dirk Pitt finds the second copy of the North American Treaty. Brian Shaw attempts to stop him, but Al Giordino knocks him out before he can.

Resolution: Dirk Pitt gives the President the copy of the treaty. The USA and Canada plan to merge nations and form the United States of Canada. Denouement: Dirk Pitt helps Brian Shaw escape and live his life with his true love, Heidi Milligan. Theme: Those who persevere usually end up getting what they want.
