  3. Who is AEFL Today? Today, we are 34 Adult Education and Family Literacy Providers Throughout Colorado CDE

  4. Our Students are . . . Any Adult- 16 years old or older • New citizens to the US • Unemployed adults • Handicapped • Headed to community college • Anyone who wants to improve their academic skills Any Adult - Disadvantaged or not • Immigrants or refugees • Homeless adults • Individuals with learning disabilities • Incarcerated adults • Parents • Displaced homemakers • Single adults CDE

  5. We Are . . . a blend of CBOs, Community Colleges, Library, BOCES, K-12, corrections, workforce and family literacy providers working with ages 16 on up. CDE

  6. Memorandum of Understanding Each one-stop partner must enter into Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its local workforce board CDE

  7. Adult Education is . . . instruction below the post-secondary level: • who are not enrolled or required to be enrolled in high school; • lack basic educationalskills to function effectively in society or in the workplace; • donot have a high school diploma or equivalent; or • anyone unable to speak, read or write the English language. CDE
