Who is the target audience? • Primary/secondary • Visual effects in editing can enhance this • Font size throughout (larger for ‘senior’ audience; fun font for elementary school) • Does it reflect the brand?
Before editing • Review storyboard/shot list
Make sure all video assets are in consistent ‘containing’ folder • If you move location of any of these, the program will ask you for the location when you open the file
Before editing • Review storyboard/shot list
Shot list • LS, MS, CU, MCU, XCU (more is better) • Moving the audience into the scene • Matching action • Close ups of action (watch for continuity)
Dip to black/white ‘transition’ will aid in communicating change in scene • Fade up audio effective for ‘nat sound’ (natural sound)
As you edit: Avoid product placement
As you edit: Watch forbackgrounddistractions
Edit • Review • Check for consistency/flow • Have others review (post to YouTube: ‘unlisted’) • Cut • Re-Edit • Review again • Check for typos
