  2. ADVANTAGE • The workers seek protection from their Union during retrenchment • Difficulty in organising informal sector worker • Protects workers’ rights • Right to collective bargaining • Right to fair wages • Improvement in the working condition

  3. Actions Taken • To motivate the workers through skill Upgradation • Labour laws reforms • Linking them with mainstream market workers) • Better opportunities in foreign –funded enterprises

  4. Role of ITU • Need to train the unionist at large about international labour standards in particular those for FOA and to promote enabling environment for TU organising • Unions should support in solidarity, make it known that all unions are together • It should stamp its recognition in conference of the expectations of ILO convention.
