What do you need to do? • Determine your retirement date • Determine last day worked • Submit your written intention to retire to the Deputy Chief • Arrange appointment to complete the paperwork for your retirement
Early Retiree Group Benefits • Available to employees who retire to an unreduced OMERS pension prior to age 65 • Retiree benefits plan: • Similar to the active employee plan • Exceptions: AD&D, Dependent Life, and Disability coverage not in effect.
Early Retiree Group Benefits Cont… • Coverage terminates at the earlier of age 65 or 10 years from the date of retirement • The cost split for premiums remains the same as for active employees (for a maximum of 10 years)
