  2. Grid Computing • Def: Grid computing is applying the resources of many computers in a network to a single problem at the same time • Example: • The simulation of material use (Airbus) • The Simulation of petroleum activities (French Petroleum Institute) • The military simulation (EADS).

  3. Distributed Processing • Def: Computers connected together by a communicationsnetwork. • Example: NASA

  4. Ethernet • Def: Ethernet is a protocol that controls the way data is transmitted over a local area network (LAN), which used coaxial ( same axe) cables.

  5. Peer- to- Peer ( P2P) • Def: A method of sharing files with other people via the Internet. It allows computer users to share files directly without uploading them to a server. • Example: • Lime Wire • Bear Share
