I – The first person singular • Yo • I am… = Yo soy…
You (singular,informal) – The second person singular • Tú • You are… - Túeres…
He/She/It/You (singular,formal) – The third person singular • Él/Ella/Usted • He is… - Éles… • She is… - Ella es… • You are… - Ustedes… • It is… - Es… *Usted is sometimes shortened to “Ud.”
We – The first person plural • Nosotros/Nosotras • We (males) are… = Nosotrossomos • We (females) are… = Nosotorassomos
They/You all (plural) - The second person plural • Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes • They (males) are… = Ellos son… • They (females) are… = Ellas son… • You all are… = Ustedes son… *Ustedes is sometimesshortened to “Uds.”
You do not have to use the pronoun when the verb is conjugated. • Many times you will see something like this: • Soy baja. • Es cómico. • Somosinteligentes.
