Desert • 2-3 cm of rain a year max. • Very hot. At most, it will rain 8 times a year in the desert. • Animals: snakes, scorpions, insects and lizards. • Plants: cactus. • Food chain: Bushes or grass, Lizard, Snake
Tundra • Located near the polar-ice caps. Very cold. • 2-3 cm of rain per year • Plants: Lichens, mosses, NO trees. • Animals: Polar bears, Penguins. • Food chain: lichen, Moose, Arctic Fox, Polar bear
Taiga • It’s a forest located underneath the tundra. • Very cold all year round • Plants: Prickle trees • Animals: Caribou, moose, wolves. • 30-50 cm of rain per year. • Food chain: Bushes, Moose, Wolf, Caribou
Temperate & Deciduous Forest • Located on the east coast of the United States • 100 cm of rain per year • Plants that drop leaves in winter live here • Animals: Deer, rabbit, squirrel. • Food chain: Tree, squirrel, rabbit, deer.
Grasslands • Grasslands are mainly found in Africa. • Plants: Thick blades of grass, bushes • 50-80 cm of rain per year. • Animals: Hippos, Zebras, Lions, Hyenas.
Rainforest • Located by the equator. • Over 200 cm of rain yearly. • Plants: Vines, Bushes, Trees • Animals: Monkeys, Panthers, Toucans, Jaguars • Food chain: Insect, Frog, quolls, Python
Saltwater • Saltwater is all of our oceans and seas. • Plants: Plankton, Seaweed, Coral • Animals: Sharks, Eels, Clownfish. • Food chain: Phytoplankton, Zooplankton, Sardines, Whale
Freshwater • Freshwater is located In all of our lakes, ponds, rivers and swamps. • Animals: Ducks, Alligators, Ducks • Plants: Duckweed • Food chain: Duckweed, Tiny fish, Ducks, Alligators
