Laboratories can be exciting places but they can be dangerous too. Labs have warning signs too. They need to be SIMPLE and CLEAR! • Can you guess what these hazard warning signs mean?
In your booklet can you match up the safety symbols with the description • Can you design your own safety symbol for a lab?
Hazcards • Before we do a practical we need to check for hazards • This is why we have hazcards • These are available on the internet as paper copies • They help scientists check the risks of any investigation and what to do if there is an accident
Look at the hazcard on page 53 of your textbook or your teacher may give you a hazcard. • Make a poster to show all the dangers of the chemical on your hazcard
