  3. Linn-Benton Community College • 24,000+ students • Albany campus, Benton Center • Banner and EDI • Guinea Pigs • 5100 admitted to program

  4. Creating Applications • Slightly different than standard OSU application • Release of Information • Web only; some exceptions apply (no credit card)

  5. Admission Decision Oregon State requirements Oregon State notifies Exceptions DPP Transfer Criteria 24 v. 36 credits; Math 111 v. math placement International TOEFL = 525 with conditions

  6. International • Coordination among multiple offices • Modify conditional admit policies and TOEFL • Work with ELI • Cost of Attendance = OSU • SEVIS has significantly complicated, but muddling through.

  7. Application Fee • OSU = $50 • LBCC and PCC = $25 • Partners split the OSU fee • Application fees to LBCC every term (LBCC provides partial refunds); annually to other partners

  8. Testing • LBCC requires placement testing for admission • Waived for DPP applicants unless taking WR or MTH at LBCC

  9. Information Flows • Courier • Fax (burned through 2 machines) • Share transcripts,ACT/SAT scores, AP scores…. • Banner System Access • Weekly spreadsheets/Banner batch reports

  10. Electronic Data Sharing • Electronic report sent to partners (XLS format) • Includes new application or new decision • Data fields reporting names, id’s, answers to specific community college questions, etc • Goal to be completely paperless • Sent weekly

  11. Application Processing Issues • 2x-3x longer time at CC • CC does not use all the info • Create LB application file if OSU denies admission OR student needs to register at LBCC

  12. End of Term Process • All Partners are using EDI • Program that Sends Full Transcripts via EDI for Students Enrolled that Term • Only Send to the University • Grades to LBCC if needed for Graduation

  13. Impact on LBCC Admissions • Processing time of application • Specialist and back-up • Knowledge of OSU process and contacts • Keeping ACT/SAT scores • Expanded recruiting • “Job security”

  14. Term application/enrollment patterns • Fall is largest • Winter is best term to ‘kick off’ a new partnership • Summer ‘reverse’ for some partners

  15. Good Luck It can be done! Web application and online fee processing is a must! Using existing technologies best in long-term. Don’t create add-on processes if possible– integrate into current systems
