Retrieving Data • Go to dnaLIMS website http://dnalims.ucsd.edu/ • Click “Login to dnaLIMS” and enter Login Name and Password
Samples can be viewed as text and chromatogram files individually or downloaded together in a compressed format.
Viewing Individual Text and Chromatogram Files • Click the “View” button next to the file you wish to view • The chromatogram file will automatically display in the browser window (no software required) • To view the text sequence click either the “Initial Sequence” or “Phred Sequence” button
With a PC and Internet Explorer 5 Click here to get WinZip, which is needed to uncompress if you download all trace and chromatograms files (for all users) Users must have Chromas software installed on their computer to view downloaded files Downloading Files
For Macs OS9+ • Clients will need Stuffit Expander to extract all trace files and chromatograms • Mac Resource Fork Repair Tool must be downloaded (this can be found on the Support Tools link on the client menu page of dnaLIMS) • This tool will extract itself automatically into 2 files
Delete the “.hqx” file and put the other on the desktop • To view the trace files and chromatograms, click the link to download them • Once downloaded it may extracted automatically, if not use Stuffit Expander to extract files • Drag folder containing the extracted files onto the “Mac Resource Fork Repair Tool” on the desktop and click “OK” at the prompt • Open the folder and view the files • You must have EditView software installed on your computer to view chromatogram files
