Worker’s Rights • The first things you have to know before going into the workplace are your Worker’s Rights. • Your Worker’s Rights are rights that you, as a human being, are guaranteed in the workplace. • Your Worker’s Rights are things that prevent you from working for under minimum wage, working too many hours, or working in an unsafe environment.
Recognizing an unsafe situation • It is important that upon entering the workplace you have the ability to recognize if a situation is unsafe. • An unsafe work environment can lead to serious injury, and even death. • It is your responsibility to recognize unsafe workplaces and deal with them appropriately.
Responsibilities • Responsibilities are rules that go hand in hand with your rights. • In the subject of worker’s rights, you also have worker’s responsibilities. • These responsibilities include: • -The ability to recognize an unsafe situation. • -To use appropriate safety clothing and gear. • -To comply with health and safety procedures. • -To not fool around. • -To report all workplace related injury/illness to supervisor. • -To always use caution and think before you act. • The above are just a few of your worker’s responsibilities.
Conclusion • It is important that you follow the guidelines provided in a workplace before commencing work. Workplace related injury can cause you a lifetime of pain, they can lead to long legal battles between you and your company and/or government, and in some cases they can result in death.
