Hades • Parents- Kronus and Rhea • Sphere of Influence- Death, and the Dead, and he is the king of the underworld • Attributes- his watchdog Cerberus, the key to the Underworld, and sometimes a cornucopia or a two-pronged pick-axe • Birthplace- Crete; where he was presented to Knonus from Rhea and then swallowed • Favorite places- the underworld
Statue of Hades form the Roman Empire I chose this picture of Hades because it shows some of his attributes and what Romans depicted of him. First off, in the statue it shows Hades in a toga, which was a fashion of high up Romans and Greeks. He also has a beard and long hair which many Gods had. The statue also has many attributes like his watchdog next to him who is scanning. the area. He also has a look of despair and torture in his eyes which suggests that he despises his brothers for making him be the god of the underworld.
Modern Day Picture • I chose this picture as my modern day picture because it shows how people still think of Hades the same way today. In this picture it shows many characteristics of him and attributes. It shows him with fiery hair which resembles the underworld. It also shows him in a Roman outfit. He also has a powerful look on his face. He looks like he wants to scare people and is fierce. Even today we resemble him these days in movies like Hercules.
