Goal #1 Achieve national and international distinction in neuro-rehabilitation research
Goal: Achieve national and international distinction in neuro-rehabilitation research Technology/Innovation: Motion Analysis Assessments Exoskeletons Robotic Assisted Movements Interprofessional: Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy Biomedical Engineers Biomechanical Engineers Health Economists Basic Scientists Neuro- Rehabilitation Research Entrepreneurialism
Goal #2 Attain national and international recognition for innovative, entrepreneurial activities in health professions research, education, and service
Objectives • Increase the number of faculty/administrators who have training in entrepreneurialism and developing business plans • Develop and implement at least one new innovative model of clinical education • Develop and implement at least two new innovative/entrepreneurial initiatives in any of the 3 mission areas within the next 2 years • Develop and implement at least one global outreach initiative in the next 3 years
Goal #3 Faculty and staff will be recognized by stake holders as motivated, consumer oriented, and talented/ professionally prepared
Objectives • Develop and implement a CHP Faculty Mentorship plan by July 1, 2011 • Enhance the leadership skills of faculty/CHP leaders • Prioritize resources to promote professional development • Consciously move forward with MUSC’s theme “changing what’s possible” in all marketing materials
Goal #4 Lead SC and the nation in translating research into the classroom and clinic within our respective professions
Goal #5 Achieve national and international distinction as leaders in interprofessional education and practice
Goal #6 Maximize our participation in the health care delivery models emerging from health care reform
Objectives • Educate the students, staff and faculty on the opportunities and challenges associated with health care reform • Increase our knowledge of and participation in comparative effectiveness research to demonstrate the value of our professions within various health care delivery models • Develop partnerships locally and across the country to maximize the utilization of our professions in new models of health care delivery in SC
