  2. FIRST STEP: MSBD • MOST STUDENTS BRING DINOSAURS • M MULITPLY • S SUBTRACT • B BRING DOWN • D DIVIDE • BY FOLLOWING THESE STEPS DIVISION SHOULD BE AS EASY AS ABC..123…

  3. MSBD STEP 1: MULTIPLY 5 155 ASK YOURSELF… What # multiplied by 5 gives you 15? 03 (don’t forget the zero) Now multiply 5 x 3 and place the answer below the 15. Onto Step 2… 0 3 5 155

  4. MSBD STEP 2: SUBTRACT 0 3 Once you have place your answer to (5x3=15) under the 15, the next step is to add the subtraction sign. Subtract the problem 15-15 Your answer is 0 5 155 -15 0

  5. MSBD STEP 3: BRING DOWN 0 3 5 155 • Next step in our procedure is to BRING DOWNthe next number. The next number would be the last 5 in 155. • Drop the number (as shown) right next to the 0. • Move to the next step… -15 0 5

  6. MSBD STEP 4: DIVIDE 0 3 1 5 155 • The next step after you have brought the 5 down next the zero, you must divide. • Ask yourself… “How many times does 5 go into 5?” Your answer is one time. • You would put your answer (1) on the top line -15 0 5

Am I Finished??? 0 3 1 5 155 • You may think “O I’m all done now, YEAH!!” but you are not done until you can not complete the MSBD process. • So you would continue on by first • Multiplying 5x1=5 • Subtract 5-5 • Bring Down ??? STOP • There is nothing to Bring Down!!! • You are not finished because you could not go any further in our MSBD process -15 0 5 -05 0
