What is the Transport Training Initiative? • TTi is a non-profit association and a network that aims at improving human capacities in the transport sector of Developing Countries. • The idea is to train transport experts in their motherland using national and international training institutes, teachers and appropriate curricula. • TTi generates and conducts own projects. • The main focus is sustainable transport. Transport Training Initiative

  3. Main Challenges • High demand for skilled personnel in private sector and administration • Training institutions missing or having difficulties in satisfying the demand • Brain drain of skilled experts • Inadequate career entry after university Transport Training Initiative

  4. Main TTi Activities • Review and improvement of transport training curricula at training institutes • Implementation of training programmes and modules • Exchange programs for lecturers and students • Internships and trainee programs • Training near the job or on the job • Targeted problem-solving research programs • International cooperation and networking Transport Training Initiative

Network Members • Northern and southern training institutions • Private companies working in the field of transport in Developing and Industrialised Countries • Public and private donors • Public administrations in Developing and Industrialised Countries • NGOs and interested private persons Transport Training Initiative

  6. A Demand-Driven Approach • TTi develops demand-driven projects in the South. • Members are invited to formulate their ideas on transport training. • The TTi Secretariat picks up the ideas and supports the members in fund-raising and developing projects. Transport Training Initiative
