  1. What is Agriculture?

Definition • “Farming” or “agriculture” shall include: • farmingin all of its branches and the cultivation and tillage of the soil; • dairying; • the production, cultivation, growing and harvesting of any agricultural, aquacultural, floricultural or horticultural commodities; • the growing and harvesting of forest products upon forest land;

  3. Definition Continued… • the raising of livestock including horses, the keeping of horses as a commercial enterprise; • the keeping and raising of poultry, swine, cattle and other domesticated animals used for food purposes; • bees, fur-bearing animals, and any operations, performed by a farmer, • or those practices in conjunction with such farming operations, including preparations for market, delivery to storage or to market or to carriers for transportation to market.

  4. Production Agriculture • The science, art, or occupation of cultivating the soil, producing crops, or raising livestock. • Crop or Livestock Farmers or Ranchers

  5. Ag. Mechanics • The design, operation, maintenance, service, selling, and use of power units, machinery, equipment, structures, and utilities in agriscience. • Mechanics, Engineering & Design

  6. Ag. Marketing • The trucking, buying and selling, marketing, trading, and sales of Ag. Products.

  7. Ag. Supplies & Services • Businesses that sell supplies or provideservicesto people in production agriculture (farmers).

  8. Ag. Products & Processing • Those parts of the industry that inspect, grade, process, and package any ag. product (food or fiber).
