The AAS – CABI Knowledge Management Room and Resource Room is a combined facility recently developed to provide a central point where AAS staff can gain access to, and share, scientific information/literature. What is the Knowledge Management & Resource Facility? The Knowledge Management Room has access to the internet and is managed by five AAS internet specialists who can provide AAS staff with information from the internet and on-line resources The Knowledge Resource Room will be a location where AAS staff can access electronic databases of literature, as they become available and also review information gathered from the internet based on their personal requests to the AAS internet specialists What information is available in the AAS – CABI Knowledge Management & Resource Facility? The AAS – CABI Knowledge Management Room and Resource Room is a combined facility with a range of electronic and hard copy materials which will expand over time to make this an essential resource for AAS staff. A key resource of the AAS- CABI Knowledge Management and Resource Facility is the link to the internet. and the world wide web. Via this internet connection a wealth of scientific information is available, including books, Journal articles, specialist web sites etc.. On-line resources available to AAS staff include CABI products: CAB Direct – An on-line bibliographic database containing over 9 million scientific abstracts and over 100,000 full text articles CABI ebooks – a database of over 500 scientific books available as PDF files • CABI Compendia – information resources containing extensive information including datasheets, abstracts and supporting information resources. The AAS – CABI Knowledge Management and Resource Facility is located in the International Exchange of Science and Technology Centre (IESTC) of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences (AAS) building How can I access information for my work/study/research? To gain access to this wealth of scientific information simply obtain a request form from the Internet Manager in the Knowledge Management Room in the IESTC building, complete the form and then return to the Internet Manager.
