  2. Aims • Sensitization of the members to report cases • Outbreak alert (e.g. Measles in Gandhidham) • Epidemiology in a geographically defined captive population (e.g. Navi Mumbai project) • Such projects can be replicated in other districts

  3. Capacity building • Make brochure and mailer • Talk at CMEs, Conferences, Workshops etc • Display a poster at the venue • Establish a network • Zonal coordinators – IAPCOI committee • State coordinators – EB Members • District coordinators – IAP branch office bearers

  4. Navi Mumbai Project • Diseases covered • ABM, Pneumonia, Chickenpox, Diphtheria

  5. Geographic area - Navi Mumbai Municipal Corportion • New Panvel - Kamothe- Kalamboli - Kharghar- CBD- Nerul- Sanpada- Turbhe-Vashi • Kopar Khairane- Ghansoli- Rabale- Airoli- Dighe

  6. Reporting agencies • Municipal Corporation Health facility - FRU, MCH centres • Medical college hospitals - MGM, DYP, Terana • Corporate hospitals - MGM, Fortis, TeranaSayhadri • Trust hospitals - Mathadi, PKC, MGM CBD • Private Nursing homes • Outside corporation limits - pediatrician's reference

  7. Who will report ? • Pediatricians • Pediatrician identified by NMMC, Medical colleges ped depts.

  8. 2 clinical assistants • Daily phone calls, CFR filling and data entry and compilation

  9. Support • Laboratory Investigations • X ray, Blood culture, CSF culture, Sterile body fluid culture, Latex for CSF, SBF

  10. Meeting • HODs, CMO NMMC, Medical Suprintendents of Trust Hospitals, Pediatricians

  11. Budget • Web site maintenance • Capacity building • Funds for Project e.g. Navi Mumbai
