What is Media? LIB 2300 Media is the “main means of mass communication, especially television, radio, newspapers, and the internet, regarded collectively.” Media facilitates communication by carrying information from source to receiver The channels of communication are ever-changing
Media in Today’s Library LIB 2300 Modern day requires everyone to become information literate The goal of media in the library should be to foster information literacy through patron-centered library media programs Media can be used to solve problems, think critically, and satisfy curiosity
Role of LTA in 21st Century LIB 2300 Must be up to date and aware of all existing and new technologies that may help or harm the library experience Support information literacy by fostering media awareness
