Application period • Start2 months before application deadline • Preceded by preparation phase: • Nuffic: imports courses in Atlas • Dutch institution: checks course details in Atlas, prepare registration form • Registration form: for candidates to register for fellowship at Dutch institution • Application deadline = deadline for Dutch institution to submit grant request

  8. Eligibility check Directly after application deadline Check on objective criteria for candidates If indicated not-eligible: application not further processed for an NFP or MSP fellowship Eligibility check is identical for sub programmes: Master’s, short courses, PhD. Only nominated candidates.

  9. Assessment Directly after checking the eligibility of an application Only eligible applications By means of answering questions Response options range from poor to excellent Deadline for eligibility check and assessment: 4 weeks after application deadline

  10. Selection • Assessment leads to a score. Determines position in the ranking of all eligible applications • Highest ranked => selected • Correction => if policy principles are not met • Priority country • Sub Sahara Africa (50% budget) • Food security (35% budget) • Applications from female candidates (50% of fellowships to female candidates)

Dates application deadline 4 November 2014 • 18 August 2014: preparation • Nuffic imports course details into Atlas • Institution: check course details, prepare form • 4 September 2014: start application period • registration form for candidates available. • Institutions can submit grant request • 4 November 2014: application deadline institutions • 2 December 2014: deadline eligibility check + assessment • 23 december 2014 (approx): selection

About Atlas • Successor of SOL • Tool to manage grant awards • Supports the changed processes for application and selection: • Candidate: register for fellowship • Dutch institution: submit a grant award • Netherlands embassy: check eligibility and assess application • Nuffic: select applicants
