How fast can Paramecium swim? The red big furry thing is called Paramecium,also the furry stuff around is actually called cilia. Italicize scientific names of organisms. How did you find out this number (2 MPH)? They could swim about 2 MPH, but if you use protoslowProtoslo™then it slows the Paramecium down and it won’t go so fast that you can’t see it. Animalcells Are you talking about mitochondria, the organelles inside cells that help convert food to energy? They are hot dog shaped, like some bacteria. What happens when animal cells ingest their food!!!??? Animal cells ingest their food, which turns into energy. They also have particles that look like hotdogs, and the cilia allows the cell to move.
