Early life • Born in Kolkata on March 23, 1953 • She was to follow her fathers footsteps and persue brewing. • She attained her under grad in zoology and a graduate degree in brewing despite wanting to go into the medical field • She attended Mount Carmel college, Bangalore university, & Ballarat college of advanced education

  3. After attaining her degree’s, Kiran had a diffiult time finding a job in brewing; considering she was a woman. She then picked up consulting for several years until she met Leslie Auchincloss, owner of Biocon Biochemicals. Auchincloss recruited Kiran as her business partner of a new Venture, Biocon India which was launched in 1978.

  4. What’s Biocon? Kiran has helped establish Biocon, a biopharmaceutical company in India; whichmanufactures generic active pharmaceutical ingredients that are sold in the developed markets of the U.S and Europe.

  5. Philosophy A philosophy Kiran has lived by is one that her father told her. 'Treat them with respect. Everyone has something to contribute.'
