  2. Definition • Paraplegia describes complete or incomplete paralysis affecting the legs and possibly the trunk but not the arms. It is the result to damage to the spinal cord at T1 and below.

  3. What it causes • Things that may start Paraplegia are: Broken neck, Broken back, Stroke, Spinal cord injury, Genetic disorder, Congenital (present at birth), Infection, Tumor, Syrinx.

  4. Frequency • Each year about 11,000 people have spinal cord injures that result in Paraplegia • Average age of spinal cord injures is 31 to 40

  5. Treatment Initially treated at the scene by removing any pressure from the spine or brain • GIGER MG therapy helps when its affecting the Central Nervous System

  6. Prevention • Use proper safety equipment • Avoid risk taking activates • Pay attention to environmental factors
