  3. Quadratic EquationsStandard Form: y=ax2+bx+cWhen a quadratic equation is graphed, it is called a parabola. A parabola basically looks like a U or an upside down U. Or as Mrs. K says a “smiley” or a “frown”.

  4. Steps To Help U Solve Note: Always clear the memory 1st (2nd , + , 7, 1,2) Note: When Graphing Press the ZOOM Button Then the # 6 to see the Graph in a Standard Window Note: If u cannot see the vertex on the graph go to window and change it accordingly Note: Mrs. K calls 2nd the “Blue Button” Note: TRACE is under the screen Note: You hit enter the 2nd time only if u don’t want a guess Click the Y= Button Click GRAPH To find the Vertex Click 2nd then TRACE. Than scroll down to minimum or maximum (according to the graph) Put the curser on the vertex Then press the left button twice than hit enter Line back up with the vertex Press the right button twice and hit enter Now hit enter again Look at the x, y values it gave u The x value is the Axis of Symmetry And together they are your vertex

  5. Things To Remember 4. The “BLUEBUTTON” is the 2nd Button 5. ALWAYS CLEAR THE MEMORY 1ST On the Graphing Calcs the minus sign is different then the subtract. (It will mess up the graph) Solutions are called ZEROS on the Graphing Calc
