Biography of Speaker Kevin Wiley obtained his Masters of Sciences in Computer Science from UNM in 1985. After that he was a database programmer for 15 years, at an HMO, at UNM Hospitals and as a self-employed consultant. He has been at HSLIC for almost 12 years now as a Manager for applications and programming. He supervises a staff of 8 skilled programmers who manage projects for departments all over campus. Some of the latest projects for him and his team are taking him into the management of mobile "apps" and the potential for development. Kevin is a member of the Health Sciences Library's Mobile Technology Work Group and will share some of that group's knowledge with us today. Abstract The introduction of smarthphones into the market five years ago was the beginning of a consumer driven change in the computing landscape. This presentation will discuss mobile devices in general and their use at specific environment such as the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. This presentation will also discuss how organizations are working to keep up with the consumer driven change that is occurring.
