AskOut - Connect Based on Real Opinions

AskOut is a dating app that connects people based on their real opinions on various topics such as movies, books, TV shows, and more. Pain Point Being Addressed • It is still difficult to find connection on dating apps • Dating apps at present rely overly on photos • Questions being used to match people are too generic and don’t reflect the real personality of a person • It is difficult to gauge the nuanced personality of the other user on dating apps

  4. Value Proposition • Connecting people based on the real nuances of their personality • Enabling communication even before getting matched. In fact, communication is the cornerstone of connection in the real world and that is what is also at the center of our solution

Our Solution • There will be a database of sharp, interesting opinions on topics • Topics could be movies, books, tv shows, music, technology, current affairs, politics, cooking etc. • Examples of opinions – “Snape should have married Lily” (Harry Potter – Books), “Jon Snow should have been king” (GOT – TV shows), “India should invest more in space missions” (Current Affairs) • The user selects topics of his/her interest and chooses 5 opinions out of those topics. • The interested user tries to gauge the personality/interests of the person out of those 5 opinions and leaves a message • If the user likes the message he/she received, then he/she could choose to match with the person • The feed of a user could be governed by algorithms – more user who have chosen opinions in the same topics or maybe even same opinions • User could submit their original opinions and they would be rewarded for that • Revenue model – Subscription – upto 30 profiles in a day, update opinions daily instead of weekly, upto 10 opinions instead of 5, Bookmark a profile

  6. Ability to build this venture • Experience in Android development • Have friends who can guide me in coding the app • Have a good friend who is a UX designer who can help with the UX of the app • Have friends who use dating apps who could be the first users

  8. Progress with the idea • Still in idea stage • Have worked out the basic features and revenue model • Learning coding again to build the app
