In the compost bins, food is broken down by things like bacteria and worms. http://kids.niehs.nih.gov/images/wormcart.gif http://school.discoveryeducation.com/clipart/images/germ4c.gif Don’t forget, you can also turn it by hand!
Once the compost is turned back into soil, it can be put back onto the ground. The fresh compost is full of nutrients that will help plants grow. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g154/naturehouse/CompostFromTumbler3.jpg
All 3 stages of composting! 1.The first stage is your food that you put in the composting bin. 2. Then when you put the compost in the box with the worms, it will turn into dirt. 3.Then we put it in the ground. http://www.ferryplazafarmersmarket.com/events/waste_wise/images/compost_cycle.jpg
It is important to complete the cycle and give back to the Earth. http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/swfa/compost/docs/CompostLogo2.jpg
