  2. Unit 10: Passive Voice • 10-1 The passive voice • English has active voice and passive voice. The active voice is used to express the subject does something whereas the passive voice is used to express that something is done by the subject. The passive voice is always used in scientific report, where the performer is not really important but the process or principle is.
