So what is Photoshop all about? • It’s a popular program for creating and modifying digital images. • It’s the most popular graphic editing software in the world! • It is produced by a company called Adobe Systems (who also owns Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash…)
So how long has Photoshop been around? • In the late 1980’s two brothers, Thomas and John Knoll, who were fascinated by art and technology and whose dad was a photographer started playing around on their father’s Mac computer. • They began to develop software that could select and affect only certain parts of an image. They named it Photoshop. • In 1990 Adobe launched Photoshop 1.0 • And it hasn’t stopped evolving. We are using Photoshop CS5
