IETF SPIRITS WG 56th IETF, San Francisco, CA SPIRITS Protocol Issues <draft-ietf-spirits-protocol-04> Update presented by: Vijay Gurbani
Changes to I-D • Latest changes as discussed on the WG mailing list: • Subscribing to multiple DPs in one SUBSCRIBE request • Specification does not prevent anyone from doing so, but neither does it condone this behavior. • Aggregation of multiple DPs in a set is a nice option for those services which require a logical OR of the DPs (presence, for example).
Changes to I-D • Resolution on the WG email list: • The protocol allows a subscriber to subscribe to a set of DPs. • A NOTIFY is sent when any one of the DPs becomes active. • The subscription is considered spent after the notification; a new SUBS will be needed to resurrect the subscription. • This behavior is scoped as a MAY (leaving it to the discretion of the service provider on how to best provide the service).
Changes to I-D • Representation of non-call related events in SPIRITS. • Location • Mobility • Other services
