Mary Savoie Mary Savoie Executive Director, The Options Industry Council First Vice President, The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) Ms. Savoie heads OIC’s education and marketing activities. She also oversees Corporate Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Internet Services and Investor Services at OCC. Prior OCC positions held by Ms. Savoie include Vice President, Corporate Communications; Director, New Products; Manager, Member Services. In addition to these responsibilities, she serves as a trustee for the Securities Industry Institute’s Wharton Program at the University of Pennsylvania and is a member of the OIC Roundtable, Futures Industry Association, Women in Listed Derivatives and the Financial Communications Society. Ms. Savoie graduated with an MBA in finance and marketing from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BA in economics from Stanford University. Ms. Savoie completed the Securities Industry Institute’s program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Alan Grigoletto Alan Grigoletto Vice President of Education, The Options Industry Council Mr. Grigoletto manages the education efforts of the three areas of outreach for OIC: retail investors, financial advisors, and institutions. Prior to joining OIC, Mr. Grigoletto served as the SVP of business development and marketing for the Boston Options Exchange (BOX). Previously, he was a founding partner at the investment advisory firm of Chicago Analytic Capital Management. He has more than 30 years of expertise in trading and investments as an options market maker, stock specialist, institutional trader, and portfolio manager. He was formerly the portfolio manager for both the S&P 500 and MidCap 400 portfolios at Hull Transaction Services, a market-neutral arbitrage fund. Mr. Grigoletto is the current Chairman of the STA Derivatives Committee. In addition, he is a steering committee member for the Futures Industry Association, a regular guest speaker at the Securities Exchange Commission, CFTC, House Financial Services Committee, Federal Reserve Board, and has been a guest speaker at the House of Representatives on the topics of best execution and penny pricing in the derivatives markets. Mr. Grigoletto received his degree in Finance from the University of Miami.
Bill Ryan Bill Ryan Managing Director, NYSE Euronext Mr. Ryan began his career in options with EF Hutton in 1982 where he served on the retail trading desk. He has worked at various brokerage firms including SG Cowen where as the firm’s Senior Registered Options Principal, his primary responsibilities were retail option trading and strategy. During his time in options he has served on various exchange and industry committees and has participated on many panels at industry conferences. At NYSE Euronext, Mr. Ryan is responsible for business development and sales for option products. In addition to his responsibilities at NYSE Euronext, he also serves as an instructor for The Options Industry Council, conducting option seminars for all segments of the investing community.
Hong Chiu Chen, Ph.D. Hong Chiu Chen, Ph.D. Secretary General & Director, The US-China Foundation for International Exchanges, and Senior Consultant, The Options Industry Council Dr. Chen took an early retirement from Chevron in 2001. During 1997 to 2000, he managed the Group of Public Affairs and Business Development in Beijing, China for Chevron. He joined Chevron after completing an Industrial Post-Doctoral Fellowship. In his career with Chevron, Dr. Chen undertook various appointments with increasing responsibilities covering research, development, technical service, business development and public affairs. He was the inventor or a co-inventor in numerous US and foreign patents covering petroleum refining and petrochemicals manufacturing. Dr. Chen is Secretary General and Director of the US-China Foundation for International Exchanges. In 1994, he received Friendship Award from China State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs for his contribution in founding the first Sino-American Technology and Engineering Conference (SATEC) in 1993, when he led a delegation of fifty Chinese-American engineers and scientists covering eight engineering disciplines from the USA to Beijing for the exchange with the Chinese counterparts. With the success of SATEC-93 and the endorsement from China President Jiang Zemin, SATEC became a biennial event, and Dr. Chen further served as the Advisor for SATEC-95 and SATEC-97. Dr. Chen served as Chairman in 1992 and President in 1991 for the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the Chinese Institute of Engineers/USA, an institution of over 90-year history. Dr. Chen graduated from National Taiwan University with a B. Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering. He received a M. A. Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada, and a Ph. D. degree in Chemical Engineering from McMaster University, Canada. He further completed an Industrial Post-Doctoral Fellowship with Atomic Energy of Canada, under a program of the National Research Council of Canada.
