Some General Information There are three territories in Palestine, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. The population is 4,152,102 currently. This is the breakdown: 0–14 years- 35.8% of population (male-471,908/female 447,816) 15-64 years- 60.5% (male 796,421/female 757,227) 65 years and over- 3.7% (male 39,546/female 55,637)
Religion: Muslim 75%,Jewish 17%, Christian and other religion 8% Ethnic Groups: Palestine's: 99.9% of Palestine Languages: Arabic and Hebrew is the primary spoken language. English is widely understood.
Education Literacy Rates: total population: 91.9%male: 96.3%female: 87.4%
Health 3.58 deaths/1,000 on average. Life Expectancy (on average): male: 71 years female: 73 years
Government: Mahmoud Abbas is the president. Salam Fayyad is the prime minister. The government type is semi presidential.

Relationships With the United States the United States does not recognize Palestine as an independent state. The united States does not consider Palestine as an ally.

Criminal Law violent acts are considered crimes of violence and fall under the purview of the criminal justice system.
Land Laws: The Palestinian Land Law is a law that prohibits Palestinians from selling land to Jews. The punishment for violators is the death penalty.
Many groups such as UNESCO are trying to unite the Jews and the Palestinians. But, no matter how much effort is put in, the 2 cultures will not stop feuding.
Human Rights Some Rights the Palestinains have include, • Freedom of Speech • Freedom of religion Under the Oslo Accords, both the Palestinians and Israelites agreed to respect and protect religious rights of Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Samaritans. • Freedom of the press
Women • 11 Palestinian women have been murdered because of “honor killings” in 2005. Homosexuality: • Common people make excuses to kill them.
Palestine is Being Recognized as an independent state: Iceland is the first country to do this in Western Europe on November 28. Iceland and Norway joined 11 European Union members to support this move. The Icelandic parliament passed the by 38 votes in the 63-seat house. Iceland now recognizes the pre-1967 borders of Palestine.
