Μερικές “Αλήθειες” για… Συνειδητοποίηση • Ο «στίβος» είναι Ευρωπαϊκός και Ανταγωνιστικός… Πρέπει να «πείσουμε» για την αξία της έρευνας/ καινοτομίας μας και των Συνεργασιών μας σε… Πανευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο • Η Επιτροπή έχει εφαρμόσει ήδη αρκετά FPs… Υπάρχουν συγκεκριμένες πολιτικές και προτεραιότητες… συγκεκριμένη «γλώσσα», δομή, διαδικασία… • Οι Κυπριακές Συμμετοχές είναι … «πρέσβεις» της κατάρτισης και του επαγγελματισμού μας…!

Συνοπτικά, το ΙΠΕ: • Συντονίζει / στηρίζει τη συμμετοχή της Κύπρου στο Πρόγραμμα ΟΡΙΖΟΝΤΑΣ 2020 • Φιλοξενεί όλα τα Εθνικά Σημεία Επαφής (ΕΣΕ) – National Contact Points(NCPs) για την Κύπρο, υποστηρίζοντας ενεργά τους κυπριακούς φορείς στην προσπάθειά τους να συμμετέχουν με επιτυχίαστα Προγράμματα (διοργάνωση ημερίδων / εκπαιδευτικών σεμιναρίων, επίλυση αποριών, βοήθεια στην εξεύρεση συνεργατών κ.λπ.). • Συλλέγει και επεξεργάζεται στοιχεία που αφορούν στη συμμετοχή κυπριακών φορέωνστο Πρόγραμμα.

23. “Hints”… “Tips”… Follow “Logical Framework” approach: • WHY a project is carried out (why bother…?) • WHAT it is expected to achieve (and what not…) • So, Project Objectives (and non-Objectives) • WHO is going to do the work… • EuropeanConsortium and the synergies and • complementarity of Partners • HOW the project is going to achieve the above… • So, Work-Plan and Phases of Work, • as well as Means/ Resources to be utilized.

26. “Tips”… “Hints”… •  Common Errors • Proposal written as Scientific Paper • Not addressing Scope and Expected Impact of Call • Concept and “state-of-the-art” as well as the outline of the Network are elaborate and in-depth, but Implementation/ Methodology, “beyond-the-state-of-the-art” and Impact are under-developed • Unclear Aims and Objectives • Over-ambitious OR under-shooting • Off page limits...! • Template and its structure not followed • Essential parts disregarded • Last-minute...panic-induced errors... • Not final...OR Wrong draft submitted...

27. “Tips”… “Hints”… • What Evaluators expect • Well-organised, “flowing” text, addressing clearly Call’s Scope/ Objectives. • Proposal should make the Evaluator’s “life” easier: consistent, well-written, following guidelines/templates. • Proposal should help the Evaluators score it more easily: “built” around the the Evaluation Criteria and shown Impact against Policy Background. • Proposal has to convince that it will add value and Innovation in the specific field, for the Consortium and the EU at large. • Clear description of Consortium and synergies/ compementarity within it. • Clear Work Plan with Contingency Planning and fair budget distribution.

28. “Tips”… “Hints”… General “Good Practice” • START EARLY...! • Evaluators don’t have too much time... Keep it simple and concise • Always revisit “Expected Impact” and Criteria-questions... Stay within “Scope” • ( copy from Documentation and work around it) • No duplication of previous Projects, but... building on them • Clear language and organised contents • Explain abbreviations / Use Glossary • Use tables and diagrams (relevant and easily understandable) • Use Structure and Table-of-Contents from Templates...Use Headings and subheadings from Templates...

29. “Tips”… “Hints”… General “Good Practice” • Use Margins and Font Size / Page-Numbering / Page Limits set in Templates...! • Accurate, Verifiable and Professional content (refer. where needed) • No “emphatic” statements and claims that are unsubstantiated • Consistent in UK English throughout. NO jargon or slang. • Write for the “non-specialist” – educate te Evaluator to understand what you want to do and why it’s worth the funding... ! • No typos, no inconsistencies, no obvious cut-&paste, no numbers which don’t add up, no missing pages… • Proof – Read at the end...
