Dichotomous Key Homework • Select a group of 8 SIMILAR objects (example: writing utensils, shoes, pictures, folders, guitar picks, stuffed animals – whatever you decide, but you have to bring them to school on Monday) • Make a dichotomous key for your objects. Follow the dichotomous key rules! Put the key in your notebook – in the “input” section.
Dichotomous Key Rules • Must always have TWO choices – otherwise, it is not a DIchotomous key! • Must proceed in a step-wise fashion, resulting the identification of each individual. • Can be done in the outline fashion as seen in class with the salamanders, or it can be a flow chart, as seen on the next slide.
