Change Font Size to 36 Click Down Arrow Click 36
Your screen should look like this Font Size 36 Big cursor The big “I” is the Cursor or Insertion Pointer and shows when Word is ready and waiting for you to type!
“Save” Your ChangesUse “Save” any time after you have already named your file using “Save As” It’s easy to save! Do it often! Click the little blue square diskette
Type your first name Tap the “Space Bar” 3 times
If you need to fix a mistake Press “Backspace” key to erase Put your cursor beside the wrong letter and press the “backspace” key to backup and erase the wrong letter. Then type the correct letter.
Press the “Caps Lock” KeyThis makes all letters capitals Caps Lock
Type your first name Your paper should look like this, except with your name. Is this the correct way to type our names? No! We should only capitalize the first letter. Note: When you hit the space bar, Word might have changed the first letter of your name to a capital That is ok! Next, we’re going to learn how to do that!
Press the “Caps Lock” Key 1 timeThis turns the Caps Lock off Caps Lock
Press the “Enter” key 1 timeThis makes the cursor move to the next line. Enter Key
Press 1 “Shift” key and hold it downThere are 2 Shift keys. You only need to hold 1. Shift Key Shift Key
1. Type the 1st letter of your first name 2. Take your finger off the “Shift” key 3. Type the rest of your first name. Right way to make capital letters! > For time savings, can skip to slide 18
Practice your name.Follow these steps 3 more times. Steps: Press the “Enter” Key. Press and hold down the “Shift” key. Type the 1st letter of your first name. Let up the “Shift” Key. Type the rest of your first name.
