Introduction • What you accomplish during a 24-hour period depends on your own motivation, your energy, your skills and abilities, and other resources. • Since there are always demands on your time, it may be helpful to think about what you will do with your time and to consider some strategies for more effective time management. • Time management is not a way to make you work harder and longer, but a means to help you work smarter to accomplish your work more easily and rapidly. Creating a revision timetable NOW DO THE SUMS !!!! Hours per weekday x number of weekdays left 2 x 50 = 100 3 x 10 = 30 Hours per Saturday x number of Saturdays left 3 x 10 = 30 Hours per Sunday x number of Sundays left Make sure you haven’t counted the days you can’t revise Add up the three totals = number of hours left for revision Divide this by the number of weeks left = hours revision per week 160 ÷10 = 16
Creating a revision timetable NOW ALLOCATE HOURS PER SUBJECT !!!! You don’t have to give the same amount of time to each subject You might spend more time on the subjects you find hardest You don’t have to give the same amount of time to each topic You might spend more time on the hardest or largest units
