  1. Do Now Task . . . . . What are the three main groups of people in Antarctica? Write down your 3 guesses now!

  2. Who should Stay? L/O: To argue why a group of people deserve to stay in Antarctica. Starter: What is this object?

  3. A new marker for the Geographic South Pole is put in place each year on January 1st. The South Pole is covered by a moving ice sheet, so at the end of the year the marker is about 10 metres from where it started.

  4. Antarctic Court You will be working in threes (no more) You will either be: Local Fishermen, Scientists Or Tourists

  5. Preparation • Each three must prepare a speech to read out about why Antarctica is important to them and why they should remain. • You will be asked to read this out to the class and your speech will be graded according to the Level Sheet (you will have specific information cards, further information can be gathered from Geog 3 if required)
